Since 2004, in collaboration with the Canadian charity SCAW, we have distributed over 120,000 bed kits to children under the age of 12 years in various schools across the country. The project recognizes the importance of sleep in the mental and physical development of children. In the Rotary Year 2017-18, 4000 bed kits were distributed (between 3rd and 10th March 2018) to children in primary schools located in Gilgil, Nairobi, Makindu and Narok. Total Cost Kshs 11,300,000.00. The bed kits contained mattress, blanket, mosquito net, sleeping pajamas, slippers, school bag, pencil case, pencils, and stationery. During the year 2019 (25th Feb – 1st March), further 4,000 bed kits were distributed in Kayole, Nairobi, and other selected sites.
